Viltu leigja mótorhjól?

Biking Viking ehf. leigir út BMW F650 GS mótorhjól fyrir íslendinga líka. Ef þú vilt halda þér í þjálfun eða skreppa í stutt ferðalag er leiga á mótorhjóli tilvalin, en hægt er að fá töskur með hjólunum okkar. Til að leigja mótorhjól þarftu að vera 25 ára með gilt mótorhjólapróf. Hjólin okkar eru ekki leigð til ferðalaga á hálendi Íslands nema með leiðsögumanni.

The Longest Day is a specially designed tour covering almost the equalivent of two riding days in the bright summer night at summer solstice. On this ride you discover some of the best roads and scenery Iceland can offer. Riding skill level is average but the ride is rather long.

Day:
We depart from Reykjavik at 2 pm and head for Thingvellir on the twisty Nesjavellir road. After a short stop at Peningagja we head for the Lyngdalsheidi road for the first gravel road. We ride through Laugavatn and arrive at Geyser around four in the afternoon for a quick snack. From there is a short drive to the famous Gullfoss waterfall for the third stop of the day. Then we ride towards Fludir and head towards river Thjorsa and make a short stop at the viking hut Stong. We cross Thorsa at the powerplant Burfellsvirkjun and put the volcano Hekla in our sights. At around eight o'clock we arrive for a fabulous dinner at Leirubakki, the place of Hekla museum. We rest our bones for at least two hours before we mount our bikes again.

Night:
From Hekla we take a road known by few through a small Icelandic forest with one river crossing. At around midnight we stop at the crater Kerid and for those who are brave enough we follow the Icelandic custom and roll around in the dew naked. That is supposed to bring you happiness. We ride through the town Selfoss and pass the coastline in the light of the bright night. The last stop is at lake Kleifarvatn in the middle of Reykjanes mountainpass. We arrive at the hotel between three and four in the morning and hit the sack right away.

Included:
Bikes, third party insurance, fuel, refreshments, dinner, museum tickets.

Not included:
Hotel in Reykjavik, extra mandatory insurance

Distance:
About 350 km of which almost 100 are on rather good gravel roads.
